Lauren & Sam

Strong Mansion in Dickerson, Maryland was the setting for the June 30 wedding for Lauren Dibert and Samuel Degraft.  My team and I will not forget this wedding for a long time–it was culturally vibrant and a true celebration of love.  The most intimate moment we have witnessed at a wedding was the couple meeting before the ceremony without actually seeing each other. They held hands around the corner, talked and prayed for their ceremony, reception and marriage to be blessed. And that it was and shall be a union that is blessed from the start.

Lauren made a stunning bride!  Starting the day in Frederick with hair and makeup, Lauren dressed in a strapless lace gown and simple, yet elegant veil.

Because they used traditional vows during the ceremony, Lauren and Sam took the opportunity to exchange their own book of vows to each other before the ceremony.  They met at the corner of the upstairs rooms at the mansion without seeing each other. This had to be one of the most heartfelt and touching moments in all the weddings I have ever witnessed.  This is the kind of relationship every parent should hope their child would find–one grounded in their faith and devotion to God. Lauren and Sam Blog 7

This was the most amazingly beautiful moment for a couple to share before they take a lifetime vow before family and friends.Lauren and Sam Blog 9

It was a brutally hot 95 degrees with full sun during the late afternoon ceremony. Strong Mansion was lush green and beautifully landscaped.

The great snowball fight of 2017

The Hagemeyers enjoyed a family session this December for the traditional family photos around the tree.Hagemeyer blog 1

The latest additions to their family, Cash and Kohl, joined us, and things got pretty lively!

This is what families are all about…playing, laughing and having fun together!

Later in life, when the kids look back at these images, I hope they will fondly recall the fun time they had playing with their family, and the love they shared.

Lauren & Sam Engagement

Lauren and Sam met at Montgomery Community College in a pre-calc class, and hit it off that semester. They have a love for the outdoors–hiking and enjoying nature. We visited some of their favorite locations for the engagement session. It was easy for them to be natural and enjoy each other’s company during the session. Plus, their love for each other is obvious! I’m looking forward to their June wedding and the celebration as they mix cultures and begin their married life together.

Laurel Senior Portraits

She’s got brains, talent and personality. On the rifle range, Laurel can put on her game face and be a fierce competitor.  But on the inside. she’s got charm and it is easy to see she is a deep thinker.  Laurel is one who quietly stands with confidence, and her ripples radiate to those around her. Thanks for being a great role model for others, Laurel.
